Our Story SalonCapri opened its first salon in 1967 with a small shop in Hyde Park, the southernmost neighborhood in the city of Boston. Owned by newlyweds and Italian immigrants Nicholas and Gina Penna, the salon’s growth from modest roots is truly the epitome of the American Dream. The Hyde Park location started with only five styling stations but it quickly developed a diverse clientele, thanks to its extensively-trained staff and cutting-edge styling. Nicholas and Gina’s children, Nicholas Jr. and Laura, joined the family business and, in 2000, expanded with a second SalonCapri in Newton Highlands. In 2010, the Hyde Park location moved to Legacy Place, a premiere outdoor lifestyle and shopping center in Dedham. While memories of the salon’s humble beginnings in Hyde Park will forever live on, SalonCapri now offers its clientele the latest in hair and beauty innovations in two state-of-the-art locations.
